Thursday Night

Here are a few pictures from yesterday and today.

Todd and I spend Wednesday with our other 3 kids while Aunt Carol spent the day and night with Ashlyn. We decided to go swimming at the RCS pool. They had a great time swimming.

Ashlyn has been spending more time in her chair and tonight her nurse gave her a lollipop. She liked it for just a minute or two. She is doing so good that we can't wait to see how she will respond to therapy at Sunnyview. Our God is an awesome God!!!

  1. I'm glad you all were able to spend some time with the other kids. I'm sure they enjoyed the time with Mommy and Daddy. I love that picture of Ashlyn holding the lollipop - that is so great to see her progress and this is before rehab. God is healing her right before our eyes! She is looking more and more like herself in these pictures.
    We love you guys!

  2. Ashlyn is never far from my mind. I though about her and you guys at worship practice as we sang two songs. I would like to share some of the words.

    #1 Today is the Day
I'm putting my fears aside, I'm leaving my doubts behind, I'm giving my hopes and dreams to you, Jesus
I'm reaching my hand to yours, believing there's so much more knowing that all you have in store for me is good is good
I won't worry about tomorrow, I'm trusting in what you say Today is the day.

    #2 Counting on God
Joy unspeakable that won't go away, just enough strength to live for today so I never have to worry what tomorrow will bring cause my faith is on Solid Rock, I'm counting on God
I'm counting on, I'm counting on God, I'm counting on, I'm counting on God
I'm counting on, I'm counting on God, I'm counting on, I'm counting on God.

Thank you Lord that you are the Finn's Solid Rock. Thank you for your faithfullness and all your promises. Thank you that Ashlyn is in your loving arms.

Keeping you all in pray - love Tammy (The Sutherlands)

  3. What a wonderful sight to see her with a lollipop, and those BIG BEAUTIFUL eyes!!! What a joy to spend the time with Ashlyn. I have to say that I cried and cried (and still teary as I write) seeing a glimpse of the Ashlyn we know. I don't know how you do it everynight Todd. I spent most of the night watching Ashlyn, holding her hand and begging God to have mercy on her and give us another miracle of healing. Most people won't suffer in a lifetime what Ashlyn has had to suffer in the last four months. Aunt MaryEllen said I hogged Ashlyn...I did! I scooped her up in my arms as soon as I could and rocked her and sang to her and loved every minute of it! Thank you for giving me the privilege, I know it was hard to give her up for a night. I'm missing Ashlyn already. I'm glad you had fun with the boys and Katelyn, you all needed a day of recreation and togetherness. Give Ashlyn a big kiss and hug from me "the fun Aunt!" I love you all so much. Love, CarolAnn

  4. It is 11:50 PM and I just had to check back incase there was an update before I headed to bed, and behold there was. those pictures are great. I am in tears again. Overjoyed at the hand of our loving Father. And recognizing how very much the entire family needs prayer. We keep each one of you in prayer, infact we name each member individually, it helps to know just how we can focus our prayers. May God Bless each one of you in ways that we humans can't even imagine. May God fill you with His Peace. And dear LORD please continue to heal your little one Ashlyn, she is your precious daughter, thank you for all your blessings given and those that are still coming. PRAISE YOU LORD FOREVER!!!!!We love you! And miss you. love, The Skinner Family

  5. Todd & Liz,

It, indeed, is an amazing miracle that the ALMIGHTY HEALING POWER OF GOD THE FATHER is alive in the very fullest from the pics you have shared over the last several days with everyone. So wonderful to see such a speedy recovery of little Ashlyn in the last 2 or 3 days! LORD GOD we EXALT THEE and PRAISE YOUR NAME and do give YOU ALL THE GLORY in the work that YOU have done in this precious one's life. Wanted to let the two of you know you are always on my mind day in and day out and I pray that GOD will strengthen Ashlyn in a mighty and powerful way as a testamony to the ones who deal w/ her on a daily basis who may have never been as fortunate as us to personally know HIM as LORD and SAVIOUR. I ask that GOD would continue to over-shadow your entire family during this very difficult time and give you not only the spiritual strength you need on a daily basis, but also to bless you w/ the required physical and mental as well. LORD GOD, please continue to allow them both to be able to be by their daughter's side from the financial aspect as well. Again, thanx so much for keeping up your daily blog and sharing your thoughts as well as Ashlyn's daily progress! It really keeps us in check when we sometimes feel life has turned against us!!!!

    GOD BLESS THE FABULOUS FINN'S,
    Chris Charles
