There's No Place Like Home

Yippee! Hooray! Ashlyn is finally home. After another 7 1/2 weeks in the hospital she is finally home. She is definitely happy to be home. She is already fighting with her sister. It's funny, because neither of them can talk so they just whine at each other when they don't like what the other one is doing. She is taking a nap now. Next week she has a Dr. appt. and has a PT, OT and Speech evaluations (for insurance purposes). After that we should be starting outpatient therapy in about a week. She still has her G tube. But she is not using it. Her appetite has decreased a little, but I imagine as she is home longer and not under stress it will increase. Thank you all again for your tremendous support for us. We are truly blessed to have friends and family like you all. Thank you all who helped out financially so Todd could take a leave of absence. He is returning to work on April 1st. God Bless and have a wonderful night. As we will too with our little girl sleeping in her own bed tonight.

  1. Praise the LORD! Liz and Todd we are so happy for you and Ashlyn. It is great to hear she is home and feeling well enough to fight with her sister. Lord thank you for the blessing that Liz and Todd are, please continue to bless them in all areas. And continue to give them the strength to care for Ashlyn at home and all of the rest of their responsibilities as parents, spouses, homeowners, etc. You are a Great Big God who loves us all way beyond what we can ever possibly understand. Thank you LORD. love you Finn Family, the Skinners

  5. The DelVescovo family is rejoicing with you as you celebrate Ashlyn's homecoming. We continue to pray that her recovery is complete and her little body gets stronger and stronger each day. We continue to ask and believe that God will restore her voice. Thank you for blogging so that we could know how to pray and see God's hand upon your lives during this time. We have been blessed by your faithfulness and trust in Jesus and even when things didn't look too good you kept your eyes on Jesus - you have testified to many of what it means to truly trust our Lord. Lord I ask now that You abundantly bless the Finn family as they settle back into their daily routine. I ask that you continue to have Your miraculous hand of healing upon Ashlyn in the days ahead as You continue to do Your will in her life. Hope to see you all soon - you have been missed - Ellen & Tony

  7. Wow, what a journey! I hadn't checked the blog in a couple weeks but have been following Ashlyn's story the whole time. I can't believe how much progress she has made. Praise the Lord! I pray that her speech will return soon. It has to be so frustrating for her (and all of you) to longer be able to communicate.
